Ooo!
I can design you something for that!

Currently knitting a crime scene tape scarf - using a free lettering chart from Rav cos I'm lazy, but can map out my own fonts if need be.

Also working on a pattern for a tunic inspired by Star trek uniforms - shape will be 60s, more like the last movie than the show, and black panels down the sides like the TNG uniforms. I'll only be making that in one size, (mine - 14-16), but I can pretty easily do the maths and it's an ebook, right? - so we can have ppl put in their measurements and the pattern will adapt?

Further back in my brain is a pattern for a Rockband game scarf. which will be epic, and awesome, but possibly going over the line when it comes to IP.

OR - if you need something specific to plug a gap, let me know?

Awesome! See how you go and I'll let you know if we need gaps.

Only thing about Star Trek is not sure on copyright etc.

No worries.

People are asking the best way to get in contact with you for rules clarifications and other questions.
I've been directing them back to this thread. - Or would you rather they email you via contact@twelfthplanetpress.com?

The thread is fine as that then works as an FAQ. Also fine to reach me at the email address above.

Hi, I mostly design with a zombie and/or steampunk theme, would either of these qualify? Also, just to be clear, you aren't just looking for knitting patterns, am I correct? I work in a variety of mediums but knitting is not one of them.

Hi! Not just looking for knitting at all! At the moment I'm looking for anything that can link to time travel. I think you could easily make the case for steampunk. I'd set the challenge back to you on the time travelling zombie!

I'm also wondering about other mediums. I do knit but occasionally like to dabble in other things.

After the ebook is released would we be allowed to post/sell the pattern elsewhere after a given amount of time or is publishing totally at your discretion?

I don't at all want to limit submissions to knitting. Other mediums are very welcome.

There would be an exclusivity clause for a set period of time for the ebook, beyond which you would be free to do what you want with your pattern.

Is this only going to be an ebook, or is it also going to be released in "old fashioned" paper/hardback book format as well?

At this stage, it is only an ebook. There might be scope for it to be a paper book later on but that would involve renegotiation of rights and payments etc.

Alrighty...I have a TMNT cross stitch pattern (which was inspired by a photo I stumbled across online-I still have it, so that's not a problem), and a cross stitch pattern that I'm currently working on that says "home is where the heart is" in binary (which was inspired by my own geekiness combined with my southern home hospitality that has been well bred into everyone in my hometown).

These are the only two of mine that I haven't shown off/asked for opinions about online, so they're literally in my bottom drawer and stashed away on my desktop. I'll have to borrow a camera since mine met with an unfortunate end, but otherwise, is there any interest in something like this? I usually design everything in DMC color threads, but can add in others if need be, I know I've seen the color converting charts online if you'd like.

Hope to hear from you soon!

I just re-read your comments, and I guess I was confused originally about the time-travel qualification...The TMNT pattern definitely won't qualify, unless you wanna do something about tripping back into the 1980's, but perhaps the binary would since it kinda brings elements from today's geeky world as well as elements from southern history (where I grew up, everyone's grandma had a cross stitched pattern somewhere in her home that said something like "no place like home" or "home is where the heart is" or "if you lived here, you'd be home right now", etc.)...In other words, it kinda spans generations to a degree.
