If you're new to feminist discussion and are finding it all a bit confronting, I recommend checking out Derailing for Dummies which discusses angles of argument that are not helpful to the ongoing discussion.
Also, because I have been talking about feminism for a while on this blog, I'm no longer going to sidetrack a conversation to explain things from the beginning to newcomers to the topic. The reason for this is simple - it's not my job to educate you up to the level of this conversation. And doing so sidetracks and derails the conversation the rest of us were having.
