Awesome. But I have to say I am starting to feel very very uneasy about this election. It's starting to remind me a lot of how I felt leading up to the 2000 election -"Surely," I said at the time, "people will not vote for such an *idiot*?" And of course, the rest, including whether or not they actually did, is history. So too is the fact that he was voted back in 4 years later, we are still grappling with an unwinnable war, the stock market is in crisis, there are threats of the US going into recession, global climate change is still scorned, Katrina ... the list goes on.
I caught a snippet of the VP Debate whilst walking past the TV at Conflux and well ... Palin is actually incoherent. She puts words together in a row but they make NO sense. It's not actual language that she speaks. What comes out of her mouth is gibberish. Did she actually fucking say, "Drill baby drill?" Ferfucksake this is 2008 not freaking Wild West days of 1754.
I personally am scared. Voters in America are unafraid to vote, in majority, for an underqualified monkey - they did in 2004. So ... anything can happen here. And I am afraid.
