But I actually do it with everything. I'm one of those people who saves special soaps and candles and things - you know, till they're like 15 years old and you have to throw them out cause they're mouldy. But I'll not read a book as soon as I get it home from the shops. Or watch new DVDs. Or use a new appliance as soon as it comes in the door. I put everything off. Let things settle, put them on display, before I use them or figure out how they work.
I do it with everything - like with my holidays, take a day or two to settle into them before I actually do whatever it is that I planned or wanted to get done. Or presents - unwrap them and then just look at them for a while before I like ... I dunno, use them?
Well in the spirit of breaking bad habits, I have unwrapped the lovely tea that I got this week from my ASif! Fairy and used my little teapot for one and matching cup (which I've had for nearly a year now and not yet used) and made up a little pot of tea and brought it to bed with me. The start of a new habit, I say! Part of being the person I want to be - which, by the way, is one who enjoys exciting, exotic teas (as long as it doesn't impact on the coffee imbibing). This cup is delicious - strawberries and cream! Yum!
