Friday!!!

Have pounding headache and hayfever today - so badly that my eyes hurt.
We have another cyclone off our coast.
And 2 deadlines of lesser importance but already late. Urgent.

Too much to do, not enough time, as usual.

Last night went to a minyan (prayers for the dead) and had a huge realisation about feminism. Might post about that later.

Headed home and finally crawled into bed. Had been fighting the urge to start yet another pair of socks (am yet to finish any of these latest ones started) and then decided since I am buying the yarn from ebay and unsure how far it goes (ie does it make a pair of socks?) that I should start and find out. Started on a pair from yarn speshal_k got me for my bday in like Sunset Burst or similar. Going from the toe up so can see how high the leg will go (ozisim I have not forgotten and will send you instructions. Have since discovered 2 toe up versions and am trying the second - no provisional cast on but you cast on 8 st and increase so it's fiddly in the beginning). I like starting projects. And with the yarn I like variation in colour to be interesting so seeing how a new yarn will knit up is fun. This is where second sock syndrome comes in *waves at lonely sock for speshal_k's bday present*.

Busy weekend coming up. Going to some fancy dinner dance thing tonight. Sunday is a write off - the bf's dad's stone consecration in the morning, brunch at his mothers with assorted relatives, then he has to ref a bball game (thrown on him but he had to cancel tonight so I guess that's only fair) and then a matchmaking exercise. Am hoping to be home in time for some decent TV before bed and recoup for the following week. I'll try to kick back Saturday and then I know I only have Mon and Tues next week at work. Its all good.

The best bit though was when the bf was telling me about Sunday, which is going to be a rush and involve taking variety of clothing changes with us, he added that I should bring lots of knitting! Ha! The boy learns quick, that he does!

ASif! Review call out!

Do you have reviews of Australian specfic? Do you think they might be suitable for reprint on ASif!? I'm looking for suitable reviews (ie conforming to house standard) of older Aussie specfic for reprint on the website. We aren't going to a get a complete dataset on our own.

Drop me a line if you think you have a contender or are interested in rewriting to conform to house standard.

Also - Gillian Polack is our representative at Conjure. She is also the repository for review copies - so please find her and thrust copies of anything you have that ASif! needs to review her way.
