January 2nd, 2009

So. It's day 3 of the Crohn's being unhappy and I have given up coffee. I guess it's time to start thinking of the word "flare up". Damn it. And you know ... the whole be careful what you wish for thing. I'm down to drinking green tea and water and treading carefully food-wise.

In other news, J is off travelling tonight for a month and popped in to return some stuff and to have a coffee and say goodbye. That was nice.

It was hot today.

I went into the city for a coffee with stephcampisi and her lovely guy. The coffee (I had green tea) accidentally spanned a whole lazy afternoon. I feel obliged to note that Steph forbade me to blog some conversations here! I don't know at all what she means!!! But we had a good long chat that spanned many many varied things and I will never ever be the same again. Was lovely meeting her and her man. Had a great time.

I quickly ducked into Borders on the way home, bought another cookbook (that's one for the year but 4 in the last week-ish) and two books from the 1001 List (Wilde, Capote). I have a horrible thought that the very thick book of 1001 Books to Read Before You Die that I have is a different version from the spreadsheet I downloaded and am working off. The only way to know is to do a direct comparison and I am kinda scared of the outcome. I've chosen I think the first 6 books of the 10 I intend to read this year. Am all enthused and am actually whizzing through Eclipse instead. I'm only reading it in order to read Breaking Dawn but I don't think I will buy a copy though.

I'm still solidifying how my resolutions will work this year but these are the ones I have and am following so far:

Read 30 pages novel per day
Read 3 short stories for LSS per day (I aim to only read 1000 this year)
Make one of my LSS stories per week a novella
Read 1 other short story a day (ASif! reviewing)
Complete 1 craft project a month
Write 1 review a week
